Statement on Repeal of Clean Power Plan
“The overturn of the Clean Power Plan is a handout to the corporate executives that EPA administrator Scott Pruitt has aligned himself with his entire career. This is just the latest example of how the Trump administration would rather line the pockets of a few oil, gas, and coal executives rather than unlock the millions of good jobs we could create stopping climate change.
“That said, the Clean Power Plan was never enough to make a serious dent on climate change. Its proposed repeal highlights the need for the climate movement to build real political power across the country, and elect leaders up and down the ballot who understand the need to truly transform our economy to meet one of the greatest challenges of our generation.
“Sunrise has a 4-year plan to make climate change matter in our politics and elect leaders who will stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.
