We Have Over 100+ Hubs Across The Country
A hub is a group of young people across race and class working together in their community to stop the climate crisis and win a Green New Deal. Hubs are one of the basic units of organization within Sunrise Movement. They play a critical role in building our movement’s people and political power.
There are 3 types of hubs:
- Chapters – hubs who have made an explicit commitment to running multiyear local GND issue-based campaigns and have at least 30+ active members
- Community Hubs – hubs who run shorter campaigns, get institutions and politicians to champion the Green New Deal, and typically have 5 – 30 active members
- Student Hubs – hubs who primarily run Green New Deal for Schools campaigns and typically have at least 5 active members who are all a part of the same educational institution
Some hubs are intentionally majority Black or Latine, these constituency hubs focus on organizing in Black or Latine majority communities or institutions.
