West regional summit

The DNC is meeting in San Francisco to vote on hosting a Climate Debate, and the nation will be watching. Of course, we're going to turn up in force to keep the pressure on and make sure our voices are heard.

Climate change threatens to touch every aspect of human life; it's not just one issue: it's everywhere. That's why we need this debate, and that's why we need your voice with us.

We will start to take action to pressure the DNC the evening of August 22, but it's okay to attend the Summit (24-25) if you can't get to the Bay by the 22.

THE action

aug. 22-23

The Presidential debates are one of our best opportunities to put the eyes of the nation on whether the candidates and the Democratic Party are treating the climate crisis like the emergency it is.

The DNC is holding a vote decide whether or not to hold a Climate Debate. It’s the biggest issue facing our generation, and we need to vet every candidate for how they will handle this crisis. This is a moral imperative, and we need to make the DNC understand that we’re not going anywhere.

Attendees will be trained in Sunrise’s DNA as well as attend specialized breakout trainings on communications strategy, action planning, fundraising, building partnerships, and other core skills to build out powerful hubs. We’ll learn skills, connect and strategize with other hubs, and prepare to ramp up our work this fall to make sure the Green New Deal is at the center of the 2020 election.

Join us for one of Sunrise’s biggest training yet!
