Meet Ray, from Detroit.

To him, Sunrise Movoment is about elevating young people to fight on the front lines of building a new, more just, more fair future.

Ray’s story is just one of many.

Climate change is destroying the lives of our generation, and left unchecked, the future of humanity. That’s why we’re gathering in Detroit - during the presidential debates - to demand that the DNC host a Climate Debate.

Midwest Regional Summit

July 28-29, 2019

On July 30th, young people, union members, and communities on the frontlines of poverty and pollution will come together outside the second Presidential debate in Detroit. We’ll send a message loud and clear to the candidates and the Democratic establishment: it’s time you answer to your base, not the billionaire donors and oil and gas lobbyists.

Before we take to the streets in Detroit, hundreds of young people from across the Midwest will come together on July 28-29 for the first ever Sunrise Regional Summit. We’ll learn skills, connect and strategize with other hubs, and prepare to ramp up our work this fall to make sure the Green New Deal is at the center of the 2020 election.
